Celebrating Cultural Heritage Months in CS Classes

Join us on Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 6-7 p.m. CT as we celebrate Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month (September 15- October 15) and prepare for upcoming cultural heritage months like Filipino American History Month (October) and Native American Heritage Month (November) in our CS classrooms. Gather resources and collaborate with other CS colleagues in celebrating the industry contributions of specific heritages and learn ways to integrate cultural content into CS teaching.

Speaker Lilibeth “Lily” Mora has served in education for 20 years in Northern California and is passionate about making education relevant for all students and for every student to have access to quality CS education in all content areas and at all grade levels. She is a chapter leader for CSTA Sacramento, CSTA Equity Fellow Alumni from Cohort 2 (2020-2021), formerly served on CSTA Staff as a Professional Learning Manager, and is currently a College and Career Program Manager for Vallejo City Unified School District.
