Connecticut Computer Science Teachers Association leaders, Betsy Dillard and Christopher Kerr, attend this year's national leadership conference in Phoenix Arizona this summer!

"It's a dry heat!" proclaims President Betsy Dillard!  "It's not so bad in the shade!" pontificates chapter member Christopher Kerr.  Together Betsy and Chris held court with over 80 other chapters identifying the national needs and finding inspiration for improving our own presence here in Connecticut.  After completing a chapter rubric provided by the National leadership we found our chapter has an excellent legislative presence but could improve in membership engagement, professional development, and providing mentoring opportunities for new teachers and districts.  If you feel you have a passion in any of these areas reach out to us.

When asked what was the most impactful thing she learned at the leadership conference Betsy proclaimed, "Meeting with other New England and regional chapters to create more powerful relationships."  Chris echoed this sentiment stating, "It was a very inspirational and motivational event.  Attending the National chapter leadership summit was a great way to help focus our energies onto the things our chapter needs."
