April Chapter Meeting In-Person - CT Valley Brewing Co., 765 Sullivan Avenue, South Windsor

For the sake of timing the Connecticut Computer Science Teachers Association Board would like to reschedule elections for the 2023-2024 board from May 2023 to November 2023 to accommodate maintaining consistent leadership running up to the October CSTA New England Summit which we are organizing.

Why the need for this vote?
Our Bylaws currently state:  Article IV Section 3 - "The Chapter shall hold regular membership meetings. One meeting per year shall include the focus and promotion of elections for Chapter leadership.  This is currently held in the Spring semester to help boards to use the Summer, if they choose, to support transitions."

This means for this year we would NOT be holding a "Spring" election in favor of a late "Fall" election.  Because of this change your leadership wants to ensure it has membership approval for this change.  This change is solely for the 2023-2024 school year and elections for 2024-2025 would resume with the May chapter meeting.

Lieutenant Governor's Computing Challenge

Sponsored by Infosys Foundation USA, the “Coding for Good” Lt Governor Computing Challenge is a statewide competition for grade 3-12 Connecticut students to submit concepts, prototypes or apps that address a societal problem. Any students, with or without prior coding experience, are welcome to submit ideas suitable for their level. This year, teachers and students can benefit from free, live, virtual learning experiences from Codejoy, which includes virtual field trips for students (requiring NO PREP from teachers!), and live virtual PD for teachers.

Teachers can sign up now for a free PD and engage your students in computer science through participating in this year’s CT Lt. Governor’s Computing Challenge!  Learn more about the challenge and sign up for a PD or student session here!
